But male animals can be cuckolded successfully- in fact even FEMALES can (hence the success of the cuckoo). It wouldn't work if EVERYBODY did it, but it works for a certain percentage of risk takers.

In the case of the little girl. One day at the beach a little brat threw sand in her eyes.. My instant flush of anger was instinctual for sure . I smelled no pheromones, as I was not the parent . But I had bonded with this tiny child and would have gone to any lengths to defend her.As would the mother of said brat [ to protect her own off spring ] who some how appeared just in the nick of time to save his sorry ass.....well just my personal experience...Conclusions might be right ...or not...
