You bring up a good point. Most of the elderly united this country in times of war, whether WWI, WWII or Korea. They worked through a depression and help rebuild the nation in the post war years. They worked hard right into their 60s, scrimped to put their kids through school and paid taxes all their lives. I think we owe the elderly, as a group, a debt of gratitude.
