You are taking a narrow view. Without those elderly, you'd be writing this in German or Japanese.

Dear Lizzie, I am glad that you are so concerned about the elderly and Social Security. I plan to retire at age 59-1/2 and am looking forward to collecting SS at 62. I won't need the SS checks to live on but I will need them to pay for the fantastic vacations I have planned. Here is a short list of the great vacations I'm going to take thanks to SS.
1. Two week trip to Hawaii.
2. Four week trip to Europe.
3. Two week trip to Alaska.
4. Two week trip to China.
5. Numerous other trips.

Thanks again for your contributions to my retirement vacation fund.

Your "elderly" friend,
Jim
