Anindo, the chip stocks are a special case within technology as they are cyclical commodity co's rather than tech co's. they traditionally perform well in global economic up cycles and rising rate environments. i bought some puts on various nutz but took profits yesterday...also a bit early in fact. i'm thinking about re-establishing some positions, as i don't think the selling in the sector is over. if you're looking for something to go long on, check out the health care REIT's. i believe they have bottomed and even if they should revisit their lows once more, their dividends are so generous that one can afford to sit things out.

regards,
