Merril Lynch has always been anti-Q.
My mom's broker is ML and he tried to talk my mom out of
making Qualcomm by far her largest holding back at $50,
just a few months ago.

sure is a nice Q day
Michael

Regarding Merril Lynch and QCOM - I've posted in the past about the lack of recognition ML gave qcom. Michael Ching (ML) comments in the 96 thru 98 time frame were almost calculated (in my opinion). Compliments followed by inaccurate or intelligent comments.

Ching would participate on the qcom conference calls and asked poor questions (in my opinion). I came to the conclusion that he must follow too many companies and could not give qcom the attention it deserved.

When ERCY bought QCOM a write up was done by Ching which was more positive. I then looked in the fine print and noticed that ML had been representing ERCY on the infrastructure deal. At that point in time I then came to the conclusion that ML's past comments (96 thru 98) were influenced and even originated by ERCY. It goes to show you how much you can trust the analyst(about as far as you can throw them) and how important it is to understand the companies you own. FWIT
