In brief...

My Father-in-law gives these three "things" as his most awe-inspiring of the century:

1. Television (says he just stood there staring at it in amazement.).
2. The atomic bomb
3. Man landing on the moon.

My mother in law gave these three "things" as her most awe-inspiring of the century:

1. Discovery of the Polio and follow-on vaccines.
2. Indoor plumbing.
3. The right of women to vote.

Interesting to note the differences in their answers. The "maternal" side of my mother-in-law shows. :*)

My list (which consists of only 37 years worth of experiences) goes something like this:

1. Man landing on the moon.
2. The Internet.
3. Nuclear power.
