George S. -- I gotta know what pile my bean belongs in! The list obviously got a few things right -- a few.

Not bitching about selections so much as the definition of rock. There's a lot of stuff on that list that doesn't get close to mine. Patsy Cline? Love her, but..... The Carpenters? We are the Champions?

While not wanting to narrow things too much, I can't help remembering Dick Clark asking the kids rating the new songs, on Bandstand, what score they would give for, "Can you dance to it?"

There is definitely some stuff on that list that will NOT get your toe tappin'. Blowin' in the Wind?

Don't mean to rag on any favorite tunes.

I'll just add a few of my own (including some you definitely can't dance to). After reading the list, you will have no choice but to admit I'm way hip. I must insist.

LaVerne Baker...............Jim Dandy to the Rescue
The Penguins................Earth Angel
Four Tops...................Baby, I Need Your Lovin'
Rolling Stones..............Let's Spend the Night Together
Go Go's.....................We've Got the Beat
Chuck Berry.................Roll Over Beethoven (& more)
Gene Vincent................Be Bop a Lula
Bobby Freeman...............Do You Want to Dance
Donna Summer................On the Radio
Frankie Lymon/'Teenagers....Why Do Fools Fall in Love
The 'Airplane...............White Rabbit
The Doors...................LA Woman
The Animals.................We Gotta Get Outta This Place
The Eagles..................Take It Easy
Five Satins.................In the Still of the Night
Hank Ballard/Midnighters....Work With Me Annie
Bob Seger...................We've Got Tonight
Bobby Day...................Rockin' Robbin
Pink Floyd..................Another Brick in the Wall
Shirley and Lee.............Let the Good Times Roll
Fats Domino.................I'm Walkin'
Soft Cell...................Tainted Love
Blondie.....................Heart of Glass
The Champs..................Tequilla!
Bo Diddley..................Bo Diddley

Mike zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Good morning, George!

We must have been logging off at nearly the same minute. I did not see your message until just now or I'd have tried to respond immediately.

As for your question, I'm not altogether sure that I understand its thrust. Are you asking how I should assort the responses or what my own response would be? If it is the former, as I think it is, I'd say you are being a bit harsh in your characterization "I'll Show You All That I'm Still As Hip As Hades." After all, there are some relatively young people on the thread as well as some parents of teenagers. These people are bound to have a different perspective. I'd say about three or four beans at most.
