Of course this is speculation for now. Here are a few questions ; 1 - what is the book value of RGO, are the values of their assets (less liabilities) worth more than the current stock price. - my guess a resounding YES 2 - What is the average cost of Enterprise's shares ? did they buy in high or did they accumulate their shares at depressed prices. I guess it doesn't matter what price they bought in at. If they have the financial and political resources to get other large sharesholders on a common front, then maybe this auction may in fact be very real. If I was a fund with a large block of shares doing nothing for a couple of years, and I'm watching my my funds net redemption every month then I'd want some action also. We'll I guess we should find out soon enough. These things don't usually hit the press unless their are buyers in the wings. I remember a while back there was some very large blocks of Ranger trading hands, maybe that was the start of thios whole process. I also think that Petro Canada is a good choice to pick up some of the pieces, specifically the international assets. The convention and heavy oil assets can be sold to an Oil fund like Enermark. The natural gas assets are very easy to sell in todays market. Good luck to all
