Charles - <Osha seems a little out of touch with what is going on. >

I'm beginning to see indication that his analysis is full of WAG.

<The competitive
opening that Intel is giving AMD at this point only
increases the need for Intel to drop the hammer on
AMD with aggressive pricing once the volume is
available to satisfy customers.>

Osha seems a little out of touch with what is going on.

I don't know that that is true. Intel is sitting on a whole load of cash and as embarrassing as their gaffes have been, in the grand scheme of things, they are minor. The one screw up that comes close to being significant at all is the likelihood of losing some of GTW's business.

I think the only thing that keeps them from doing what Osha is suggesting is fear; fear that it won't work in some way and/or AMD will pull another rabbit out of their hat. But the truth is they have the arsenal and the $ to pull it off.
