<GSM was once a European thing. No longer. Not for a long while.>

Eric, I agree, but there was no competition, now there is. The only containment for GSM is their strong hold, Europe.

<If he still thinks this way it is costing you and I as QCOM shareholders some $,
IMO. Actually I think (or I sense) that his stance on this which was necessitated by
strategies and tactics that worked well for CDMA in the past is changing.>

Yes, i agree, but short term only.

Again the deal with KYO was in the best short term interests of the Q. I think NOK has to be anxious about the New Asian competition in the handset market. CDMA is the new kid on the block, and it has an excellent professor @ the blackboard. NOK capitulates, game over.

Isn't that one of the reasons you invested in the Q? <g>

Eric, How have these strategies and tactics changed, and why do u think this is costing us (Q shareholders) $$$$ ? Is there something Dr J should be doing that he is not?

TIA,

Ma

I just activated my new Sprint PCS (CDMA) phone. All Radio Shack had was a Sony 4000 series, so I got it (dual mode).

CDMA is fantastic! So incredibly clear. I am finding their covering in N. GA to be what I need. They have the cities covered well and coverage along the main highways (intercity) looks good. Ease of use and pricing are wonderful.

Test driving some more today.
