yes, I trade for a living.

As you know there are many different trading/investing styles. I am 'math' oriented so my approach will be different than others.

IMO there are 2 things options traders should look at thoroughly: McMillan's OSI (aka 'the bible') and the CBOE's option toolbox. Reading is one thing, trying to model things in the real world is another, and then trying to implement it is completely another. Considering my style, I am a fan of computer modelling of option pricing, etc. Starting out w/ an options calculator (or toolbox) is a valuable way to understanding options. I recommend paper trading options long and short until you get the feeling for all the variables.

Ask away... many on this board are much more experience than I am.

btw, I would not start w/ spreads as your first options strategy... there are many things about exercise and assignment that need to be understood before putting on spreads.
