John this is a perfect example of how ignorant people can spread libelous accusations at Intel when they don't know what the hell they are talking about. I know something about that project and all I can tell you is that Intel was operating under ultra tight security imposed by a government agency which must remain unnamed. Raza didn't know that so he did what everybody does. Bash Intel. He didn't know the whole story, you don't know the whole story and I can't tell you the whole story but there was far more to it then meets the eye and it was out of Intel's hands. EP

After Intel licensed MMX to AMD, they went and told ISV's not to work with AMD because they had signed non-disclosures. We had a license, an open license, a legal license from Intel on MMX. We had the right to work with ISV's, but ISV's said: "Intel lawyers told us we can't work with anybody because we signed this nondisclosure." So if we're at 500 MHz, it will give us a 550 MHz and a 600 MHz. my comment - more than enough to get from 900 MHz (already demonstrated in Al technology) to > 1 GHz.
