Thanks for the explanation and speculation. I didn't realize that MetaFrame couldn't handle the pure UNIX/Mainframe platform. I had been under the impression that it handled virtually all platforms. Are there any other platforms it can't handle?

I do agree with you about the market for pure UNIX/Mainframe not being a huge problem for Citrix. My concern is about the switching costs of customers who might decide to switch from Citrix-based solutions to a future competitor's solutions that might be developed for platforms within Citrix's expertise. The ramification is that Citrix has one value if it has THE best solution. It has a higher value if the total cost of switching to a competitor is also high. I'm trying to get a handle on all of that.
