I agree that George Gilder is a reliable source. He has been very helpful to me in learning about his Telecosm.

Still curious why and how HDR uses TDMA.

Also curious if the Q is offering two separate ways to get robust wireless data , and why.

There do seem to be two paths.

One is evolutionary along the CDMA path: 1XRTT & then 3XRTT (evolution of CDMA to 3rd gen CDMA 2000)

The second is HDR which seems to be (a way to use the existing !S 95 CDMA systems by adding a TDMA element to enhance data capacity in 2.5 gen - i.e. prior to full CDMA 2000)

Again, is this a correct interpretation of what the Q is planning?
