Yes, I agree with you that selling covered calls at the peaks of a steep channel (like JDUS's) is a good deal.

The problem is when to buy them back. For example, look at this week in JDSU. The Jan 3rd high of 189 was a great place to sell CC's. But when would you have bought them back? I certainly wasn't counting on that bounce we saw Friday morning. JDSU never reached the 26-day MA or the bottom of its channel.

Frankly, I've always had this problem. TA can give you lots of sell signals on up-trending stocks. But very few buy signals for them. So it tends to get you out of great stocks, and not back into them. I really need to work on this.

Does anybody know of a good indicator that gives buy signals on up-trending stocks? RSI and Stochastics almost never do. Williams' %R gives a few.
