Mobile Data and Internet

In its formal offer document of 23 December 1999, Vodafone AirTouch informed Mannesmann shareholders that it was in the process of finalising the design of a single global internet platform. This strategy builds on the extensive experience already in place within the Group and has been under development for some time. Vodafone AirTouch is now ready to announce its plans for the structure and operation of the global platform together with details of the other elements of its global strategy for mobile data and internet.

Commenting on the planned presentation Chris Gent, Chief Executive of Vodafone AirTouch said, "Together Vodafone AirTouch and Mannesmann will be better placed than either company alone - especially in the exciting area of mobile data and internet. Our presentation will highlight the exceptional mobile data and internet opportunity for Mannesmann shareholders who accept our offer".

Availability of documents relating to the offer

The formal offer for Mannesmann by Vodafone AirTouch was launched on 23 December 1999 and will close on 7 February 2000. All the offer documentation required by the German Takeover Code has been available since 23 December 1999.

The Listing Particulars to register the New Vodafone AirTouch Shares to be issued upon completion of the offer have been available since 22 December 1999. The Listing Particulars have been recognised as a selling prospectus in Germany by the German Supervisory Authority for Securities Trading (Bundesaufsichtsamt fr den Wertpapierhandel). As planned, for convenience, the Listing Particulars will also be available in German from 11 January 2000.

Following the presentation on Vodafone AirTouch's global strategy for mobile data and internet, a brochure summarising details of the strategy will also be available to Mannesmann shareholders.

Steven, (and Robert Sheldon) i received more than a few PM?s today. I think that it would
be a good idea if i added a few things to my last post to clarify it. I am sorry that my
post caused confusion. If anyone still has questions after reading this post, please send me
a PM and i will answer your questions as best as i can.

First let me reiterate that my post to Robert Sheldon (never to be confused with Robert S)
began with You've been an excellent contributor for so long that i am very that
surprised would repost that kind of foolishness. Maybe you should have a cup of coffee
and read it again.
I respect Robert to the utmost degree. He has done a great deal of
research on Global Crossing and freely shared it with this thread. I am very thankful for
the work that he has done and i hope that he will continue to share his insights in the
future.

All of my objections were directed to the author of a post that grew from a
misinterpretation of a few words. It was not my intention to discredit Robert Sheldon. I
believe that he is one of the posters that has a great understanding of Global Crossing Ltd.
and his post are "must read" for all investors in the company.

Steven, I agree with you 100% that Hutch will open a number of doors for Global
Crossing. 2000 is going to be a big year and 2001 should be even better.

My original post was intended as a rejection that there would be an announcement relating to
Global Crossing and Vodaphone on Jan 12th.

In the past, we have been able to keep SI free form these rumours (there is atleast one
every week). I hope that we will be able to do that in the future.

Note: there were several great links posted on this thread in the last couple of weeks. Thanks to all the posters. I
was pleased to see that not only was GBLX on several "Best Stocks for 2000" list, but
that the authors understood the company. (what was it, like 5 months ago that "Global
Crossing is a start up whose only asset is one cable under the Atlantic.)

WOW: it growed up fast.

best wishes,
Teddy
