G'day all - another view of the Promatory acquisition

thestandard.com

Specifically, the last paragraph

Promatory already has DSL projects in Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, and works with system integrator partners in Japan, South Korea,Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. The company moved into the Asian DSL market in May of last year.

best, Bosco

NT after market trading was in between 98-101. But some brokerages waited for the last min. to post the delayed trading at 91 to intentionally pull down the final closing price

The listed closed price has me confused. It has the psychological effect of thinking NT is up $8. The good thing is that these things will sort themselves if it did affect investors' decision.

In any case, we should move up strongly by the earnings. The optical part of their business should be incredible and the companies in the sector such as JDS Uniphase command very high multiples.

One other thing i would point out is that the Lucent blow up has changed NT's image of being the big winner with a lot of momentum in its business. Image has a lot to do with sales momentum, IMHO. It is now considered the company with the cutting edge technology, meaning that a customer's decision will be tilted in NT's favor if both a Lucent and NT are trying to get the same contract, even if their technology is very similiar. Everyone loves to be associated with a winner.

Things look great even though the short term moves have not been as great as i had expected but at least there is also a lot of "value" here.
