CJ, excellent post! As I keep saying, the idea is to leave no stone unturned... to really hash the details out so we can reach a group consensus. Whether someone is defensive, devil's advocate, out in left field, stubborn, etc. really shouldn't matter as you don't necessarily have to travel the beaten path to get to your destination!1. It is a given that Suzanne was not murdered in his Jeep. IMO, yes.2. It is possible that he transported SJ in his vehicle; but, ....he did not transport her after she was attacked. Jim maintains Suzanne was never in his Jeep, the night of the murder or *ever*. The animal fibers Dr. Lee was talking about he found in Suzanne's maroon fleece are the infamous cat hairs that are now being tested by the FBI. My guess is they also found fibers in Jim's car (not finding fibers in someone's car, to me, would be more alarming assuming the car were not brand new). Jim doesn't even own a cat... never did... so let's see if a non match finally gets him off the hook. Doubt it. I don't even think the police will even say where the other set of fibers were found. :( As for the transportation question, recall that the two people I interviewed who were at the crime scene, and the Vanity Fair journalist, all said it was a bloodless crime scene (other than Suzanne of course). The New Haven Register reported on 12/8/98:She was stabbed repeatedly in the chest and neck. One wound penetrated her jugular vein, authorities said. Important note: later stories make it clear that all wounds were from behind and to the head and neck area. The story goes on to say...Police aren't certain if Jovin was stabbed where she was found or if she was dumped from a vehicle. However, there reportedly were no traces of blood between where she lay and the street. Other news articles report no scrape marks on her hands. So, given all the above, IMO: 1. She was attacked and bled profusely in a car 2. She was dead in the car 3. The car was headed south on East Rock Road, stopped just past the intersection of Edgehill, someone quickly ran to where she was -- in the front passenger seat -- and hastily pulled her out of the car by grabbing under her armpits. This would explain why her legs were partially in the street and all the blood would be underneath her and not in the street or elsewhere on the grass.3. It is highly improbable that he used a different vehicle ....on the night of Dec. 4th, and should not be pursued. IMO, I agree.4. It is possible that he saw Suzanne on the night of Dec. 4th, ....and Jeff would be more helpful by keeping open on that... I'll ask Jim that question again. I'll clarify the part about when he got her thesis. Could be that she dropped it downstairs in his mail box. My thinking is had she thought the only way to deliver the thesis was to Jim himself she'd have called ahead, and, even if she knew he would be there then she wouldn't have written a note. So, it seems logical either she knew there was no reason to see him and/or he was not there when she arrived.5. It still does not add-up to me that Jim maintains he ....went to the game for 15 minutes, where there were hundreds....of Yale faculty, admin, students and alum; yet, he did not ....see even ONE person he knew. (Even without a ticket.} He stood in the doorway. There might have been some others there but probably not many. Regardless, most people would be paying attention to the game, not him. When I'm watching football sometimes I don't notice who comes and goes from my own family. (gg) 6. As I've just said, I think the murder was committed in a car and thus, by definition, I find any scenario involving the use of Jim's car improbable. 7. Janice: If it hasn't been clarified for you, no one ever ... searched Jim's apartment. Jim offered, the police declined. If all of you are in general agreement with me, let's move forward to "probable" scenarios of how the:..... A. walk - attack - drive - demise - crime scene; ..... B. walk - drive - attack - demise - crime scene; ..... C. walk - attack - drive - crime scene - demise; ..... D. walk - drive - attack - crime scene - demise; ..... E. walk - attack - drive - walk - crime scene - demise; ..... F. walk - drive - attack - walk - crime scene - demise; ........ or, ..... G. any other sequence ?? occurred. I assume you define "attack" as "confrontation". I've bolded my choice above. IMO, Suzanne went for a walk, was confronted by people who forced her into the front passenger seat restrained from the rear, was eventually stabbed from the rear, and then pulled out where she was found. - Jeff
