GV- Thanks for the ML information...which neatly ties <G> to my argument that even DELL can't say for sure if they are going to make the quarter...I am assuming that if the quarter was a blow-out...that Dell would be saying SOMETHING <"quarter strong, etc"> by now...so that leaves us with the possibility that sales are "on target" (so far) for the quarter (in which case, I think management should say so) or that they are a bit behind (BUT, because of the back-end loaded quarter, they still could make .21)..

Either way, it appears that Niles is guessing about Dell this quarter....not enough ballots in (yet)....but given Intel's promising quarter...hard to imagine, if Dell is going to miss..that they will miss by much (by one penny: .20 vs .21?)

However, if this is the case, Dell's management goofed by not guiding analysts to a .20 number at the start of the quarter......we'll see...the IDC data (2 weeks) will help a bit

I read the Q&A over and over. I don't smell rat! ggg They will not preannounce, yet they are concerned. I am not smart but th elittle I fet the feeling that they will meet their numbers. Maybe today was a good buying opportunity for those who don't own enough Dell! gg
