He said that AOL and GNET are the only portals with a true broadband strategy.

What about Excite/@home ? They are supposed to have their new site designed specifically for broadband up and running soon.

This is the way I see it.... The AOL/Time Warner deal puts them in the #1 broadband position moving forward.

AT&T/TCI has @home and when they pull their heads out of their asses and formulate a game plan, they are poised as #2.

CHTR has GNET.

and who's the other big cable player....COX ? Are they aligned with a portal yet?

The open access issue outta be interesting in the coming years.
