John, >>>There is more risk, and potentially more reward, than there used to be with this stock.<<<

Just think what could happen if Red Hat made a friendly offer to acquire Intel in a stock swap. Wowee <ggg>

John, good post: Third, their other initiatives are completely unproven. Intel could succeed or fail in data farming, network gear, Internet
appliances, ITanium, DSP's, and the *hidden* Intel mutual fund.

The only nitpic I might have is that Itanium should not be quite as unproven as the other things you mention.

Intel is investing focus and money in completely new ventures. There is more risk,
and potentially more reward, than there used to be with this stock.

Let's hope the reward is comparable to, say, Intel in the 90s on average.

Niles the squirrely one strikes again, huh? Never know when he's going to emerge, or which way his wind is going to blow.
