Re: "<<Given SJ's stab wounds, I doubt very much she did anything more than stagger from the car to the location where she was found.>>

<Interesting in light of Ms. Smith running as far as she did with 2 "fatal" stab wounds, whereas, from what we can tell without the autopsy report, it appears on the surface that none of Ms. Jovin's stab wounds may have been fatal per se.>"

I believe I read here that one of her stab wounds severed the aorta. Perhaps that was someone speculating. In Lisa Smith's case she received two stab wounds to the heart with a four inch knife. The hundred yards or so she covered took about twenty seconds. I speculate that if SJ was attacked and stabbed in a car her twenty or so seconds almost fully transpired before the assailants pushed her from the car.

I understand that there is little evidence of a struggle, but I still go with this hypothesis. The struggle need not be long or even evident, but just enough to cause the assailant to lose it and start stabbing her.

"<In re: Jerry Brown, IMO, walk proud and hold your head high. Some of his ideology not withstanding, there are many cities that would tremendously benefit by having a Mayor as intelligent, honest and experienced as yours.>"

We all admit Jerry says some pretty outlandish things, but at least it shows he's thinking. Most politicians (seen any of the debates lately?) spoon out the same ol' bull as last year. Oaklanders just appreciate that things are getting done for a change. It's refreshing.

Interesting in light of Ms. Smith running as far as she did with 2 "fatal" stab wounds, whereas, from what we can tell without the autopsy report, it appears on the surface that none of Ms. Jovin's stab wounds may have been fatal per se.

But as someone pointed out yesterday, wouldn't she have run to the nearest house to ask for help? If so, we must conclude she was stabbed quite near where she fell: we know that people were at home on both sides of the street.
