What an absolute joke! How can T be up today, and WCOM down this far?

"David Faber just said the street is making an adjustment for possible loss of business from AOL."

To whom? T and LVLT are up a bit, the rest of the backbone providers are down.

Tom, et.al.: Basic axiom. Markets don't like uncertainty. Also, markets oft-times move in herds. So once a few get skittish, start mooing and heading for the exits, quite a few others will follow, too.

Making it a PERFECT time to buy, if'n the underlying company fundamentals warrant it. And with WCOM it most probably does.

Me thinks the market be over-reacting to that AOL "thang" if, indeed, this is what's causing it. Separating AOL's network from WCOM, although not entirely impossible, would in any event be the equivalent of trying to separate white from rice. Heh!

In other words, a telecom experts worse nightmare. But as I said, I don't completely discount the possibility...but it's a very small one......uhhh, imho. Meanwhile, I bought a traders block this afternoon in the $41 range, just on anticipation of playing a bounce within a week. But just in case, I placed a limit buy in below $40, just in case the damage ain't completed as yet...

Let's see how this puppy plays out...

Regards!

John~

This stock freaks me out. I bought it because I saw good growth at a reasonable PE, and here it is getting clobbered while my higher flyers are moving up on most days. I'm getting a bit worried -- not about WCOM -- I don't care how low it goes because my position in it is not large; but we are seeing quality stocks with proven earnings like WCOM, DELL, and SCH getting tarred and feathered while stocks with PEs in the triple digits go up at 10% to 30% per day. Not a good sign. I'm freakin'.

I haven't been as surprised at anything since people started paying money for water in the supermarket and listening to Rush Windbag on the radio (and admitting to it). What's gonna come next? I think I'll sit outside and try to sell blades of grass to the neighbors this Spring. Maybe they'll give me their homes in exchange.
