Doesn't it look like it is product mismatch than anything else? Gateway wanted low-end parts but was offered high end parts. Dell wanted high-end (read FSB133/RDRAM parts and we know how that went. Gateway and Dell both wanted some CuMines but we know what happened there. And to top it off there seems to have been a slight Y2K slowdown in December.

This Q4 has been one of the trickiest quarters to judge in my recent memory.
