It therefore will go to Appeals Court where MSFT will win.

Does anyone really think that the same government entities that are seeking to break up MSFT will allow the proposed AOL Time-Warner merger to go through? I don't.

When morons like Case, McNeally, and Ellison yowl for government protection from competition, they are cutting off their nose to spite their face. If they can't see that the greatest danger to the entire industry is the heavy hand of government controllers and regulators, not competition from MSFT, then they will learn first hand, eventually. And we, the consumers and investors, will all lose. The most vibrantly alive and productive sector of our economy cannot continue to create and innovate under the control of bureaucrats. And if you think I'm overstating the danger, then just wait and see...

And again, for those of you who say "Republicans good, Democrats bad", read the link below where a Republican governor talks about sending the State Police to chase down UPS and FedEx trucks to enforce collection of taxes on e-commerce. Unbelievable!

Dear Mr. Dowd,

"This whole thing is a joke and I can't see Posner really being able to convince DOJ that there is no case and that the consumer has not been harmed ..."

We are CONSUMERS. And we will be hurt by the DOJ's actions if MSFT is prevented from improving their products.

I agree with your analysis regarding the case.

Listen to this:

Date May 18, 1998, from the official AG's Press Release of former Michigan Attorney General Frank J. Kelly:

" This company has been extremely successful. Yet, instead of being satisfied with its success, Microsoft has adopted a corporate policy to use any means ... to stop competition. The greed demonstrated by Microsoft is deplorable ... I am certain Microsoft will use its vast resources to protect its illegal monopoly. But before they go too far in this fight, I suggest they look at what is happening to the tobacco industry..."

TAKE BACK YOUR THREAT MR ATTORNEY GENERAL!
I DO NOT NEED YOUR PROTECTION!
PROTECT THIS ....!
