"I'm [Falk]not totally up to date on the Nomad, the big difference is that we support multiple Codecs, which is audio compression technology. We also support multiple digital rights management systems."

I guess Falk and EDIG are not talking with CREAF or else he would know that the Nomad supports multiple codecs also.

Would you agree, that based on that statement, at this time CREAF (the Nomad) is not using MicroOS and is capable of multi-codec support?

CREAF did not make it clear as to whether or not they offered multiple digital rights management support in their competing design.

Walter,

It doesn't seem that Nomad is EDIG's competitor. It's not likely that labels will be distributing content in WAV or MP3 formats, at least not for sale. The fact that the Nomad's only secure format is WMA, suggests that there is no support for multiple DRMs.

It's definitely an alternative to the current generation of MP3 players. At least MP3 collectors will have some access to the major labels. This unit would be an ideal give-away for a WMA site. The customers would have to come back for more.

Regards,
Kerry
