Amazing how a little dip in a stock and the seemingly loss of something material brings out the insecurities in people. What is fascinating is how weak some of the people I had admired in the past have become.

I refuse to lower myself to this level. This is not a time for cutting, it is a time for reason. I would think if most on this thread would look around they would see how much they have to be thankful for. I would hope most of you were buying like I was all day.

At any rate, no ill will toward anyone.

Now:

First of all this is not the correction I talked about. Remember- what day of the week is it in the mist of a scare? yep, Wed. The Naz will begin climbing back by at least tomorrow afternoon. All that is happening in here is the acclimation mentally by the market of higher rates, no problem. People who are down about Q, don't be. Minimum $170 by earnings and they will be blowout with split.

Remember the correction will not come about naturally, it will be orchestrated by the Houses in Feb. The climb to $170 or better should start tomorrow.

Hang in there! you will like what is coming.

You can tell by the posts who have Dry Powder and the ones that don't. Fantastic opportunity in here, WOW!

Short term investors are playing the slot machines.
Long term players own the casino.
Both take some degree of risk, but the odds are always in favor of the House.

I think I will print that out and paste it on top of my computer. Me, I did not even look at the computer this afternoon, and it was great. I will have to do that more often. Maybe I will set up one of those play accounts and use that to trade in and out in pseudo-dollars to satisfy my gambling instinct while giving my lth stocks and leaps time to ferment.

I also hope that Qcom gets down to 110 or so, and if it does, UF, I am going to have to exercise my margin once again. Sorry to say it, but sometimes you do have to go for the gusto :-)

Well hi Frank. I had a feeling you'd have a differing opinion from mine and I appreciate your response.

My point is that different people have different risk tolerances, different amounts of time to devote to their portfolios, and differing aptitudes with regard to learning about the trading patterns of their stocks. For those of us who have a higher risk tolerance, plenty of time to learn the arcana of options trading, and a keen interest in technical analysis, options (and the use of margin that options require) are a very useful tool in hedging one's core position, as well as accumulating more common.

I understand that you've bought LEAPs on two gorillas, Cisco and QCOM. In my opinion, this is a very wise way to increase your leverage on on two stocks with promising futures. You've bought options. Granted, they're long term calls, but they're options nonetheless. You are not willing at this time (but I'm going to continue to work on you <gg>) to consider shorter term options because of the risk you perceive. But some of us are willing to take that risk at times. Different strokes.....

Uncle Frq: Love the Vegas analogy. Talk about LTB&H - I ain't selling till the sun don't shine no more - that means many, many years folks. The houses, the Fed, whomever can take this puppy down to wherever and I'm still not selling - my shares are tucked away and no one will take them. The story on Q is only getting better - nothing has changed folks - nothing. And I'll bet anyone on this thread that I'll be at least 3-4 times wealthier in the next 3-5 years and I'm already retired - retirement is going to be even more fun. I've got time - plenty of time - I'm not going anywhere - been there, seen it before, done that, been through the ringer, lost money, made money, been all over the place, been up, been down - this is all a crock of you know what. Anyone want to sell their shares because of fear - shame on you - no cajones. I laugh at thee. Take it down, take it down - who cares. We'll see what the price of the Mighty Q is at the end of the year. ENOUGH SAID!!!!
