I'm not really a balance sheet guru; that's why I run with the herd, at least part of the way. So I have to ask, how could coppermines show up as a receivables issue? Wouldn't that mean they claimed to have sold a bunch, but they haven't been paid for them? If anything, the problem will be too few coppermines. It's hard to imagine a few hundred thousand unwanted coppermines sitting in compaq's warehouses.

Sincerely,

Ross

I liked your analogy of lions and the herd. Not that analogies mean anything, but I'll point out that the herd animals are usually standing still when the lions start their move. I'll bet that when 5000 wildebeest are all running in the same direction at some insane speed the lions stay out of the way for a while.
