Regis, I wonder how many people actually bothered to click on the link you provided. They should have, as there is some very interesting information here.

Several items of interest are found:

1) A new product - Aranea-1-Lite is mentioned, targeted at CLECS and small ISPs. This product will actually be first out, in production in Q1 2000 (hey! that's THIS quarter).

2) They show an Aranea-1-Cluster - aimed at Carriers and large ISPs in POPs and MegaPOPs. Aranea-1 will be "in production" in Q2 2000.

3) They describe the benefits of their cell based architecture (unique to CW among the Terabit vendors I believe), that allows them 100% utilization of the switching fabric, vs only 64% for packet based architectures.

4) They show two charts, comparing Aranea to Pluris, Nexabit, and Avici on Aggregate Interface bandwidth and OC192 Port Density. Guess who wins.

I encourage everyone to look (or look again) at this presentation.

Here is Regis' link again. Click on the 3/11 (which is November 3rd, not March 11th) item.

P.S. I also am tired of waiting for news. Let's hope they give us some soon.
