GSM 250m
CDMA 50m
TDMA 10m?
Analog - 100m? which will swap to CDMA mostly.
PHS - 40m? which will all switch to CDMA

Anyone got the actual figures for analog handy?

World population 6bn [soon] of whom about 2bn will be able to afford phones over the next 5 years.

So right now, GSM is ahead of CDMA 5:1

CDMA has caught up reasonably quickly.

ASICs are coming out of Qualcomm [more accurately their foundry suppliers' factories] at nearly 20m per quarter with a fast growth rate. So there will be about 20m CDMA handsets per quarter being sold over this year. I think that is going to be similar to the GSM quarterly sales rate!

This year is likely to see GSM monthly handset sales exceeded by CDMA monthly sales.
