Here's the quote, and, yes, it does not say who gave how much, but it looks like a lot:

Last month, the company said it had gained new equity investments of $1.6 billion from investors including Global Crossing Ltd.

OT what's an $MM and what's a $BB and why not $M and $B if it's supposed to abbreviate million and billion? I can maybe understand MM if M is the roman numeral, but BB (not in your post, but in some others).

Not trying to be sarcastic, honest, just want to understand.
