Michael, Michael. If you were a baseball player and you batted over .400 - some of those hits are going to be cheapies - or lucky hits, but they still count.

There is nothing magical about those numbers - .59, .61, .63, or .69. It's just a number the company provide as to guidance on keeping score.

Intel sold out. Inventory is way down. They made a lot of good investments. They made a lot of money. You can't ask a company to better than that.

During the quarter, the company recognized gains of $327 million on sales of portfolio securities.

Michael,

Intel certainly shouldn't claim this as income (as though Intel didn't have an investment division, ala CMGI).

This 327 million should go straight to the permabears on the Michael Burke thread as partial remuneration for the worthless Intel puts purchased there.
