One thing I can say which speaks to the upgraded status of TWX lines is that RoadRunner has roughly 1/2 the subs of @home with only 1/6 the number of total homes passed.

re: TWX 85% complete?

KB, I don't know what he's talking about. My wife handed me a newspaper cutout yesterday that speaks about TWX's readiness in NY City, in particular my neighborhood in Brooklyn and a whole bunch of other sections who have just about given up hope for cablemodem. These sections wont be ready until the middle and end of "this" year, not last year when that article was written. And many hoods are slated for 2001. These are very dense pops, I might add, comparatively speaking.

It would ultimately depend on what he means by upgrades complete. If he's talking about the fiber pull from the head end to the field nodes, only, then he should get a visit from the better advertising bureau. Come to think of it, this is very likely exactly what he means. But such a definition of upgrade does absolutely nothing for me without the head end provisions and the cable modem delivery to my home taking place. Marketecture.
