hey rob---no problems out here on the left coast on SI. doesn't seem any faster or slower than usual.

it's 11.15 pm in texas and i wonder if steve g. is on alert in his attempt to be the 10,000 poster.

i'll be up for a couple of more hours and check before bedtime to see if their are any late posts. it will undoubtedly be one of you earlier risers in the eastern time zone who'll get the prize.
good hunting and let me be the first to congratulate you.

Hey RFH
I've had no problems with load time at all on SI. Question....Are you using their new or old format?

Regards, Wondering in Wylie

Hi Rob, I'd had some problems about two months ago, but it turned out to be a local server problem. Got that resolved and things were much better. If you know others on your server drop them a note and see if they are having similar problems. That's how we identified it here.

Best regards, Tom

Hi Robert-

There's a product out there called Ping Plotter (and others that are very similar and fall in the family of traceroute utilities) that I first learned about on this thread. It identifies each element in the path between your computer and the target site and lists the delay of each. Then if you dbl-clk the slow element, it gives you all the particulars about it: name, tech and administrative contacts with their phone numbers and mailing address. It's all the registration info that you have to provide when you get a url. I can almost garantee that your phone call telling them they're on their butt will not be welcome, but when you get really frustrated, it's often nice to share it with a friend! :-)
