Cory,

I think I bought in Nov/Dec '95. Then Kurlak downgraded in January, and I sat with a loss for quite a while. I remember looking at the growth rate, the PE, the GM, the projections for PC growth, and thinking, "I can't be wrong about this, can I?" (I didn't have a lot of money at the time, so each investment was VERY important)

I was right, Kurlak was wrong. And so far, every other analyst that has downgraded Intel is also wrong, and every person on the thread that has bought and held is right.

John

Cory: re: Purchase of Intc in Jan.,1996

Yesterday, I too celebrated the 4th anniversary of the 1st purchase of Intc. I was up 4 pts. at the close and net down 3 pts. the next day. Have never looked back, never sold a share, and we've been fortunate to have made an 8-bagger (700%) as of today. To paraphrase R. Palmer, tho the maxim states otherwise, "I'm addicted to ..Intel";
Naysayers about Amat are also nuts, esp. when Intc repeated over and over they need MORE capacity, Amat's now a 4-bagger, thanks to SI posters who knew their stuff in '97 when I bought. (Etec a plus imo).
Nortel to be bought by Intc with all that cash, someone suggested, I'd like that too. gg Will probably get hurt with half the position I kept in UIS after earnings this week. Just to keep me humble like Carl. gg
Many Congrats to all longs, and esp. to my favorite CFO, Andy B.(just for Mary C., from a long-time lurker)

Regards, Royco
