Is anyone else bothered by this statement?

To the engineers familiar with the telecommunication equipment: what are the memory requirements / specifications for legacy carrier-class circuit-switching equipment vs networking (IP/ATM packetized data) equipment?

Does Rambus have a role to play in the hyper-growth prospects of the latter?
