random weekend thoughts In watching weekend tv shows and chat, it is looking to me the following may be possible plays 1. market will warm up to aol/twx deal, and this is short term buying opportunity, more and more possible revenue streams will be discovered as time goes on, revealing the reason case and co. put this deal together, thereby allowing the multiple to go back to where it historically has been 2. microsoft is getting in position for some kind of settlement/deal, which will boost the stock price, bill gates turning reigns over to bill balmer was first step, I dont know how it will end up, but whatever scenario plays out, there will be a relief rally and overhang taken off microsoft stock when it happens, I would love to have 3 800 lb fast gorrillas vs one two ton slow gorrilla 3. cnqr and hifn earnings coming out this week, look for positive reports and positive runs in these two stocks 4. look for ibm to beat expectations and do another intc 5. look for aol to beat expectations and add more positive momentum 6. look for another up week driven by high profile earnings reports, and the belief we will get our .25 point rate hike in february, but we the market can take their medicine like a man 7.sold my lptha at 17 1/2 after buying at 17, because my chart guy says 18 is a ceiling and it looks like it could retrace to 12 (just telling you what he said , he is not 100%, but i dont like to bet against him) 8.volatility will continue, profit often should be posted on your computer screen 9.yahoo will make nice run this week, now the #1 pure internet play, the undisputed "leader" 10. biotechs will continue to be hot, especially human genome issues like cra,crgn, affx, and my favorite-bbh- a basket of 20 biotechs created by merril lynch 11. finacials and olb's will show some strength, way overdue 12. iaac will anounce on line international trading and creae and absolute short term feeding frenzy on their 700k float, target 20+ 13. wireless issues will continue to be hot, stick with the leaders 14.rande et al will continue to give us profitable ideas and i've "emptied the hard drive" of all random thoughts have a good weekend!
