To all...in my opinion a raise in fed fund rates has far less effect on the new age economy companies (i.e. JDSU) and a much stronger effect on older traditional smoke-stack style industries like autos, transportation and others. Thus if AG decides to make a move, the deleterious effect will have a limited impact on JDSU short term. We must also remember that currently JDSU is in a position where they are supplying a industry that is capacity and supply constrained.

Regards
Glenn

t2, I agree that bond yields, imo, are going to start dropping, as 'month by month' economic data is released during the 1st quarter.

Also, imo, 'interest rate hikes' are not going to affect the market, in the long haul, unless the 'prime rate' reaches 10% (this is one thing history shows -- according to a study I did a couple years back).

Wishing everyone well,

dc

t2 re: However, i don't believe that a stock correction in February is as likely as i had thought back in December.

That would depend on how high we go during earning season. The first two weeks selling is over with now, it will be forgotten and access will come back if earnings are, then fear over what the fed will say. It's not what the Fed did, it's what they say they are going to do. <g>
