Dear Jane: In Acts the church was added to daily. So many churches are not growing. I happen to be blessed in a church that is exploding. I have to ask myself why ? I serve on the elder board but I have to admit I am more a spectator than a contributor. Things happen so rapidly that when I observe one thing I miss another. Then I see churches that are dying; a good friend of mine has gotten involved in a church that is part of a circuit, where the same pastor has 4 churches. He asked me what it takes ? While very unsure of my answer, I explained to him that the Glory of the Lord must fall as a fire from heaven consuming the wood and the dross........this you so eloquently stated ------ But, there is a big problem when there is so much to put through the fire of purification, as it were, and it is almost impossible to talk about it since others are flourishing within that atmosphere many others are beginning to see as slightly or overtly scary and foreign. This presents a real challenge of faith, and apparently some are getting out altogether and finding more peace with the Lord and others are staying right in the middle and having a great time and getting closer to the Lord, I would certainly hope, in the process. In a zillion years I could not have explained it better.........thanks for the confirmation........I love you so much in the Lord and I am 'soooooo' thankful for you. In Christ..gregor
