Yes. And Thanks. See if I understand correctly.

MIPS chip may be more suitable to use on some applications such as graphic chip design, etc. ARM are good for QCOM's ASIC chip design with their specific purposes in price and flexibility, etc.

DSP is used for number crunching. Nokia and their GSM groups cellular products like DSP processor for specific reasons. QCOM however uses INTC's 286 chips to do number crunching. Correct?
