<All of your customers are automatically directed to the content suitable for their network.

What value is there in this? This is default now.>

Great! Give me the YHOO link that will direct me to the high speed content that my Road Runner service is capable of handling.

<Add to that the intrinsic value of the Excite, and you have the value of such a transaction.
****
Excide and YHOO would cannibalize each other. There is a conflict there. So the value of such a transaction would be negative.>

How ? One is narrow band and one is becoming increasingly more BB every day... and will become more so in February. Should YHOO build a BB site from the ground up to answer the BB content challenge that is sure to come ?

<what is the future discounted earnings stream for a 3 year pact with a company that will give you access to only BB customers in a rapidly growing BB market.
******
Why does YHOO need a pact to deliver what they would get anyway?>

What will they do with what they get ? Without a broadband alliance, on which side of the fence do they sit... narrow band or BB? If they try to do both, how do they effectively parse their customers between the two, in the simple manner that lead the 4th rate AOL to the top of the Prodigy/Compuserve/AOL heap ? Which leads us back to the question... if they try to build BB from the ground up, doesn't that give Excite an incredible lead ?
