Dubai is nowhere near what it was then !!! Its grown sooooooo much, a beautiful ultra modern city. I bet you wouldn't recognise it.

Sharjah Airport restaurant was quite popular when I was there - didn't know it was popular in 80s as well ! The Airport was pretty pathetic, but their IS dept was pretty dynamic <VBG>. Leaving them was a very emotional moment for me......I had pretty much taken them from prehistoric ages to being a fully connected airport in 5 years time. I can still remember details of the system design !!!!

The restaurant was most famous for its cappacino !

The Beachcomber was still there when I left. Did you ever go to Pancho villa - the Mexican joint in Bur Dubai ???? It was considered a cool place to be !!!

Ah the days !!!! What I would give to go back there !!!!

Talk about a small world! My husband, though born in Jordan, went to AUB for college and medical school. His first wife (deceased at 24) was Lebanese and one son lives in Beirut.
