I just got off the phone with quickent and they said they have no solution,, once the data is in the qif file that is how quicken is going to interpret it.

lizard, I have spent days on the phone with Quicken and have emailed them files from Penson. They have been no help. They do tell me that Penson seems to be the only clearing firm that they have problems with.
I have also tried importing Penson data into three other programs, all to no avail.
If anyone has a solution to this, please advise. I do not want to maually input thousands of trades.

Same thing in MS MOney using the qif file. I fixed them manually! It stunk. Always seemed to be on SHORTS as you said. I think it is the Penson file because some SHORTS record just fine.
