Dog,

One can go to the MSFT website and run the MSFT W2K readiness program to determine if the W2K upgrade can be made. It prints out a textfile flagging any issues.

The main compatibility items seem to be BIOS and drivers. It also checks memory and other machine features. I ran it on my Inspiron 3000 and had no problems. It did detect a couple of unusual devices I am using but which were not plugged into the computer.

I checked my Poweredge 2300 and had no issues since my BIOS is sufficiently recent.

You are correct that the update was 1/14/00 but so what?
You are making a mountain out of molehill IMO.

By the way how's the bullet wound?

:)
