Rambus vs Hitachi

Reviewing the Japanese press, so far the Rambus vs Hitachi news has not been reported. I would guess since law suits against Japanese companies is a never ending event and the JAPANESE LOVE to drag there feet in such matters, (which appears to be the basis of this legal issue). I doubt anything will ever come from it, or if it does, not soon enough to make any difference.

Cap, I don't think Avo had anything to do with it. In the Dec cc, Jeff was pretty clear that they were evaluating legal action. One point not mentioned is that in the Dec cc Jeff said that if RMBS felt a technology offered real competition, they would review that technology for infringement. He went on to say that thus far no real competition was apparent. About a month later, we have this action - so it is a tacit acknowledgement of a competitive threat. Not that that is very earthshaking, but it's interesting that no one commented. Rich
