Wow! Good question! A gorilla within a market - i.e. niche gorilla? No, (pondering that for a moment..) I think I would consider them a chimp. To tell you the truth I am not even sure I would say they are even the dominant chimp as Clarify has a pretty decent offering out there along with several others. You have to remember that help desk is where most of these players came from so their offerings are good (i.e. Clarify, Vantive ect..). But to tell you the truth Mike I haven't torn apart any of these companies financials in quite awhile figuring out exactly what percentage of sales they got where/what and comparing that to their competition so it is possible that Remedy is taking over the help desk arena. But I think not (note Clarifies recent announcement w/MS). In addition companies may group their sales numbers differently - i.e. Clarify and Remedy may be selling the same number of help desk seats but Clarify may classify the sales differently. My two cents worth... I rolled all of my money out of the competition and into Siebel awhile ago. The only 'competition' that gets my money now is a possible new tornado on the horizon in the form of SILK and others (i.e. pure internet players). My money is on Siebel to win that battle as well...
