Don't worry, Jerry's probably busy at the stove, cooking the books.

JF, <So tell me something, was AMD capacity constrained?>

Most definitely. People on the AMD thread were predicting 1.2M Athlons shipped this quarter. In reality AMD shipped about 900K. How much of a dent is that to Intel's market share? Not much, that's for sure.

Then again, AMD's 5M K6-2 parts is nothing to scoff at, even with Athlons having to share some capacity in the same fab.

<You seem to be more against Intel than you are for AMD. What does that say about you?>

Re <When I go to the AMD thread, I am polite and encouraging. You come here and you are rude and disparage a company that we respect. You seem to be more against Intel than you are for AMD.>

Thank you for politely trying to reduce the negative aspect of some SI posts. It is one thing to be critical but it is much more valuable to offer constructive criticism. While presently only an AMD investor, I respect and appreciate what Intel has accomplished and consider Intel a worthy core holding.

John - Re: "So tell me something, was AMD capacity constrained? We know that Intel could have sold many more chips. How many of AMD's sales were second choices, because the OEM's and end users couldn't get Intel?"

Sombeody on the AMD thread reported - from the AMD Conference Call - that AMD shipped 800,000 or 850,000 AthWipers - but MANUFACTURED over a MILLION !

AMD suffered a lack of DEMAND.

If you peruse the AMD thread - Goutama reported on Tuesday evening that AMD SLASHED the AthWIPER prices by $150 to $175/each.

It appears that AMD has rapidly reached DEMAND constraint for the AthWiper.
