Russ Motter: <OCLI is not OCLI, it's JDSU and JDSU is a gorilla>. I thought I was a confused kinda guy until I read your post. Now I'm well beyond confused. Thanks a lot. (Lee)

OCLI JDSU ETEK -not only Gemmer's were surprised. When Lucent failed to anticipate the increasing channel and speed demands in DWDM(Dense Wave Division Multiplex)systems, their customers looked elsewhere. JDSU, racing to meet LUs needs will acquire OCLI and their thin film technology used in fiberoptic line filters and capacitors offering OCLI shareholders 1.856 JDSU shares for each OCLI share. Similarly 1.1 JDSU share for each ETEK share to obtain their expertise in packaging and marketing optical systems. With nearly $1 billion in cash and no debt, JDSU is using stock as currency in an industry doubling every year for possibly the next decade.
This week Barron's report the stocks of these companies are being driven by JANUS in a developing strategy regarding technology momentum investing increasing already large positions in the hottest of all sectors-metro optical networking. By some accounts JANUS inflows account for close to a third of all mutual fund inflows.~russ
