Gary,

I agree with you. I found those stories this morning at Forbes website.

The funny thing about this is that Forbes got me onto Cisco back in 1990! They had some stories about Cisco as a start-up and IPO back then.

I have subscribed to Forbes for about 25 years and they have found me a few "gems" that have made me quite a few $$$ over the years. Not to mention good articles on taxes, estate planning ect.

Cisco has been by far and away the best tip I've gotten from them!

Eric

It has been reported that 11% of LU's 1999 operating profits came from their pension operations.

Can they repeat that accounting sleight of hand in 2000?

I know. Funny isn't it. Juniper has $45 million in sales and 15% market share. That means that the total market for Juniper's M40 is worth $300 million. Yet investors are awarding Juniper an $18.1 billion market cap - roughly 60 times the entire market's worth. What a joke.

However, having said that, if Cisco experiences competitors like Juniper in all or a majority of the markets it competes in, then all of the sudden it is no joke. It's hard to fight multi-front battles.

But I believe in Cisco, otherwise I wouldn't own the shares. These kinds of market pressures are nothing that Lucent and Nortel aren't feeling or going to feel. Cisco will come out ahead of them at least.

Gary, here is a dose of some reality you may want to read (written by a well respected industry insider who actually knows what he is talking about versus the Yahoos who masquerade as a telecom writer in lot of the fluff magazines and internet sites).

And by the way, this is VoIP, not Internet Telephony which probably doesn't even register by any measure of voice traffic analysis.
