From their site: was established by Bausch & Lomb in 1947 I wonder if they're the ones who make those spectrometers for physics labs? I bought one once to see if it'd help characterize the laser plume during pulsed laser deposition. I s'pose if we had sprung for one of the fancy ones it would've helped. I wonder if gratings are used to separate light streams in optical communication? If so I guess we'd have quite a basket of "hot opto plays" <gg>. Don't care for the name much, though. It's so....... grating? <g> JF
